This category sorting activity was originally paired with the Pronoun People activity. I thought it would be best to separate them to create more flexibility with some upcoming activities. I included 7 different category pages as well as a template page and category names.
The categories
include:
Dessert Foods
Breakfast Foods
Pets
Ocean Animals
Clothing/Things You Wear
School Supplies
Fruits
Instructions
1) Print this activity and laminate for
durability
2) Cut out all of the various category objects
and the category names
3) Select a category and start sorting
4) You can use Velcro or place the common objects
on the template page
Activity Variations: You can change the
degree of difficulty by adding or removing objects from the field. You can also
use this activity for comparing and contrasting or describing objects.
The category labels are below. I usually put the labels face down and have my kiddo pick from the pile.
